What if defining your PDF sequence was as simple as drawing a line?
Path2PDF is a Figma plugin. Draw a path across your canvas, and the frames you cross are exported and merged into one PDF — in exactly that order. Links stay clickable, page numbers and the table of contents write themselves, and the file comes out a lot smaller.

Links that click
Prototype actions get dropped in a normal export and internal jumps point back at figma.com. Path2PDF writes the PDF link annotations itself, so a table of contents actually jumps.

The things people ask.
Can Figma export multiple frames as one PDF?
It can export a page, but you don't get to choose the order — it follows the layer list. That's why so many people rename every frame with a number, export them one by one and merge them in Acrobat. Path2PDF is the shortcut: draw the line, get the file.
Do links survive a Figma PDF export?
Not reliably. Prototype actions are dropped, internal jumps point at figma.com instead of the page in your PDF, and text hyperlinks can arrive with black boxes drawn around them. Path2PDF throws Figma's annotations away and writes its own, from three sources: text hyperlinks, prototype “Open link” actions, and “Navigate to” jumps between frames.
How do I add page numbers?
Paste the placeholder {{page}} as text wherever the number belongs. On export it becomes the running number, and {{pages}} becomes the total — so {{page}} / {{pages}} reads “10 / 73”. The original text is written back immediately afterwards. Need the numbers in the file itself? “Write numbers to Figma” replaces the placeholders for good, in the order you drew — one ⌘Z undoes it.
How does the table of contents work?
Write the entry as usual and put {{ref}} where its page number goes, e.g. “Konzept …… {{ref}}”. Path2PDF looks for that heading on your pages and fills in the page it sits on. Case and chapter numbers like “02” don't matter; if a title shows up more than once, the biggest one wins. Before anything is written you see the full list, and entries it can't find are flagged instead of guessed.
Why are Figma PDFs so big?
Figma draws every letter as a vector outline with six decimal places per point, and embeds photos at full resolution. “Reduce file size” rounds those points far below what any screen or printer can show, keeps repeated images once and recompresses photos. Light looks identical to the original; Max is smaller still, with photos slightly softer up close. Off leaves the PDF exactly as Figma made it.
Does it change my Figma file?
No — unless you ask it to. Placeholders are swapped in only for the moment of the export and restored right after, even if something fails in between. Only “Write numbers to Figma” changes the file, and that is a single undo step. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, no account needed.
Does the text stay selectable?
Yes. The pages come from Figma's own vector PDF export, so text remains text — searchable and selectable, not a flattened image.
